Experienced Software Development EngineerCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Software Development Engineer to join the Government Vehicle Health Maintenance team in Hazelwood, MO. This role supports the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering organization by developing innovative solutions to enhance platform health management.As part of Boeing Global Services Software Engineering, you will design, implement, and maintain cloud-native microservices that capture and analyze platform health and usage data, perform automated assessments, and generate actionable maintenance recommendations. Your work will directly support mission readiness and lower lifecycle costs for platforms including F/A-18, MQ-25, F-15, T-38, T-7, and proprietary systems. Successful candidates will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle on an Agile team working within a CI/CD pipeline.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Position Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain non-embedded software across the full lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, customer, safety, and regulatory requirementsTranslate customer needs and requirements into initial software designs and implementation plansDevelop, document, and maintain software architectures, algorithms, interfaces, and detailed designsDevelop, integrate, and optimize software products and system integrations, including supplier-supplied componentsDebug complex issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to ensure product reliability and performanceRespond to user inquiries, troubleshoot technical problems, and incorporate user feedback into improvementsResearch and evaluate current and emerging technologies, tools, and frameworks; recommend and implement relevant solutionsEstablish, monitor, and improve software processes, tools, and key performance metrics to align with organizational goals and industry benchmarksPlan, execute, and document software research and development initiativesBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s DegreeAbility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship5+ years of experience with Object Oriented Design and Programming in a high-level language like C#, .NET, Java, SQL, HTML, and CSS5+ years of experience with software development on Windows or Linux5+ years of experience developing software for containerized architectures (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)5+ years of experience in Git5+ years of experience developing software products in a cloud environmentPreferred Qualifications:Level 3: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science and 5+ years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years of directly related work experience OR 13+ years of related, relevant experience2+ years of experience in cyber securityWorking knowledge of specification formats, robust change control practices, and how standards drive aircraft/product certification and compliance strategiesProven ability to lead requirements derivation and allocation across system, subsystem, and software levels and demonstrate complete traceability throughout the lifecycleStrong expertise in software architecture and design methodologies; able to define and validate architectures that meet complex requirements and constraintsAdvanced capability to architect, build, integrate, optimize, and debug software components across diverse host environments; leads resolution of complex, cross-cutting issuesProficiency across multiple programming paradigms and languages (higher-order, auto-coded, and assembly), plus strong database design/use and performance considerationsDeep experience designing and overseeing implementation, validation, and verification strategies; expert use of development/test toolchains and process improvementBroad domain mastery of systems that influence software architecture and integration (aircraft, missiles, airborne/shipboard/space/ground systems); anticipates and mitigates constraints such as OS limitations, fidelity, and processing capacityCodeVue Coding Challenge: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete a technical assessment as part of the selection process.
