CNC PROGRAMMER Full Time Accrues Vacation Chesapeake, VA, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1211 Salary Range: $24.00 To $36.00 Hourly General Scope: To write C.N.C programs for new jobs, and to update existing programs when changes occur or new technology is available that would cause changes to existing tooling. Position Summary: To write CNC programs using the latest revisions or blueprints and to incorporate the newest tooling which requires updating older programs to double check all programs for errors. To eliminate scrap and unsafe machine movements. Education: One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge: Incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the current programming and software being used. 3-5 years’ experience with Mastercam and knowledge of Inventor preferred. Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
