Position Overview:
Banker Lopez Gassler P.A. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This is a full-time, onsite position located at our Tampa, Florida office. This position will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for our mid-sized law firm and will act as a liaison between the HR and Accounting departments. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) and an understanding of payroll best practices, compliance requirements, and a commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
·Ability to process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
·Maintain payroll records, time sheets, and other relevant data.
·Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from staff and management.
·Collaborate with the Accounting department to reconcile payroll data and ensure accurate reporting.
·Ensure proper documentation and set up of new hires, terminations, pay changes, and deductions in the payroll system.
·Generate and review payroll reports for auditing and compliance purposes.
·Provide support during audits, including responding to inquiries and gathering necessary documentation.
·1–3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in a professional services or legal environment.
·Working knowledge of UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software is strongly preferred.
·Solid understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.
·Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
·Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.
·Strong interpersonal and communication skills; team-oriented mindset.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
