The conditions of work may involve exposure to communicable diseases, hazards of radiation, and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments. Shift Must be able to work three 12‑hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 36 hours per week. Must work some weekends and holidays as required per unit needs/schedule. Job Summary Registered Nurses in the Chandler 8 Main at UK Chandler Hospital provide care for Adult Medicine Services patients who are moderately stable, with fluctuating patient acuity, have complex needs and require comprehensive care. Patient care will include frequent assessment of pulmonary, renal, cardiac, vascular and neurological conditions. The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient‑centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians; and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. This environment supports collaborative efforts among the nursing staff and the team of physicians to increase communication and enhance expected patient outcomes.
