Shipping & Receiving Associate
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Receive inbound shipments; unload trucks and verify contents against packing lists and purchase orders. • Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and record receipts accurately in the inventory system. • Move received materials to stock, staging, or production areas promptly and safely (dock-to-stock). • Pick, pack, and stage outbound orders according to pick lists, shipping instructions, and customer requirements. • Prepare shipping documentation - packing slips, carrier labels, and bills of lading - accurately and completely. • Coordinate with carriers and freight providers on pickups and ensure shipments leave on time. • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment safely and effectively. • Perform cycle counts and support inventory accuracy and reconciliation. • Keep dock, staging, and warehouse areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety standards. Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and standard operating procedures. • Work collaboratively with supervisors, production, quality, and logistics team members. • Assist with other warehouse or manufacturing duties as assigned. Requirements • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Previous shipping/receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred but not required. • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, packing lists, and shipping documents. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate counts, records, and documentation. • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and experience with RF scanners or ERP/WMS systems a plus. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday. • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts. • Ability to read labels, part numbers, and shipping documents accurately.
Work Environment • Warehouse, dock, and production floor environment. • Regular exposure to material-handling equipment, carrier trucks, and moving pallets. • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the work area. • Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet shipping demands.
