Requirements

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Current RN License
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Prior travel experience preferred
• First-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience and EPIC experience

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for critically ill adult patients in various ICU settings
• Manage and titrate critical care drips including pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, heparin, and insulin
• Monitor and interpret telemetry independently
• Care for patients requiring advanced respiratory support including ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality critical care

Patient Ratios:

• Typically 1:1–2 based on acuity
• May flex to 1:3 when needed
• High-acuity patients such as CRRT, IABP, and Impella may require 1:1 staffing

Floating Requirements:

• Must float throughout the assigned Colorado Springs Zone 1 region
• May float to ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele units based on staffing needs
• Travelers are expected to work across multiple facilities within the designated zone

Scheduling Requirements:

• 6–9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• Schedule is created by leadership based on unit needs
• Travelers should be flexible with assignments and scheduling

Additional Information:

• EPIC charting system
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Orientation includes compliance training and 1–2 days of unit-specific precepted orientation
• Candidates must be comfortable functioning independently in a fast-paced critical care environment
