We invite you to join our ~10,000 employees to drive exceptional results for our company, the energy industry and our community.A Maintenance Planner provides job plans for daily maintenance activities and expense projects, prepares job packages, and provides planning assistance for emergency shutdowns.At Valero, this role performs duties that support our commitment to advancing the future of energy through innovation, ingenuity, and unmatched execution, including: Provides job plans for daily maintenance activities, prepares job packages for expense projects and provides planning assistance for emergency shutdowns.Receives and reviews work orders that have been authorized by the users of Maintenance services.Prepares a work scope and establishes the labor, tools, material, and equipment required for work orders.Estimates, plans, and requisitions manpower, materials, and equipment for approved work orders.Prepares/supplies drawings, sketches, bid packages, specifications, procedures, etc. that will aid the Maintenance Supervisor for all planned jobs.Maintains the records essential to the effective operation of the planning and scheduling areas of responsibility.Coordinates the scheduling of the planned work with Maintenance supervision, Operations, Safety and the Purchasing Department to achieve maximum efficiency and cost management in a proactive manner.Accumulates costs for reporting purposes on specific jobs.Assists in monitoring the productivity of contractors performing work in the refinery.Proficient and available to cover for Maintenance Supervisors when needed.Performs other duties as assigned.This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED required.3 years of planning and/or maintenance experience in refining or a related industry required.Experience reading engineering drawings, such as plot plans, piping isometrics, and P&IDs required.Experience using computer-based planning and scheduling tools required.Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Bill Greehey Refinery, required.Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s or higher level degree in a related field preferred.Planning experience in refinery maintenance strongly preferred.Drafting experience preferred.Supervisory experience preferred.Need more reasons to work for a company that is both professionally challenging and culturally rewarding?
