A-Line is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join a patient-focused specialty pharmacy team dedicated to simplifying access to medication and delivering personalized care that helps patients achieve the best possible outcomes. Location: Shepherdsville, KY
Pay Rate: $60.00/hour
Work Schedule: Onsite

About the Opportunity

Candidates must reside within one hour driving distance of the Shepherdsville, KY facility and be comfortable spending 7–8 hours per day providing patient counseling over the phone.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pharmacotherapy reviews, including drug utilization, compliance monitoring, drug interaction screening, side effect assessment, and medication administration support.
• Document clinical assessments and recommendations in patient records.
• Counsel patients on new therapies to ensure understanding of treatment plans and medication use.
• Complete required REMS training and follow established program procedures.
• Coordinate care with referring providers to address patients' social, psychological, and physical needs.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, caregivers, nurses, and prescribing clinicians.
• Provide subcutaneous injection teaching and coordinate nursing support when appropriate.
• Participate in on-call coverage as assigned.
• Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
• Verify therapy discontinuation and update patient records accordingly.
• Implement disease-state and product-specific clinical management programs.
• Serve as the primary intake contact for new patient referrals.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while building strong relationships with patients and healthcare providers.

Operational Responsibilities

• Dispense medications in accordance with physician orders and all applicable state, federal, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Maintain compliance with policies related to Medicare, Medicaid, and other government-funded programs.
• Verify prescription order entry accuracy and final product quality.
• Support pharmacy technicians with claims adjudication and workflow questions.
• Monitor hazardous waste management procedures.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and oversee aseptic technique standards.
• Utilize patient education materials effectively.
• Receive and appropriately report adverse events and product quality complaints.

Professional Responsibilities

• Maintain all continuing education requirements and active licensure.
• Support the professional development of pharmacy staff.
• Stay current with clinical pharmacy practices and industry developments.
• Participate in conferences and share knowledge with team members.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Active and unrestricted Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing.
• Must live within one hour driving distance of the Shepherdsville, KY facility.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of direct patient counseling experience required.
• Preferred 3–5 years of post-graduate experience in pharmacy operations, clinical oversight, and patient care.
• BCOP certification preferred or willingness to obtain when eligible.
• Ability to obtain additional state pharmacist licenses as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy technology systems and computer applications.
• Understanding of sterile technique and pharmacy quality control standards.
