Job Title: Float Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Recent hospital experience required; 2 years of Med Surg experience required License: Oregon license required Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: Willing to obtain active certifications and license Description: The Float RN will be required to float to various inpatient units. Within the RN scope of practice, applies the nursing process to the care of patients. Teaches patients and significant others. Documents patient care in the medical record. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall care of the patient. Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to adapt to rapidly-changing patient and unit needs. Exhibits effective teaching skills. Responds effectively to patient crisis and emergency situations. Maintains regular, consistent, and punctual attendance at the assigned job location. Displays a friendly and helpful attitude while accepting assignments to varied areas.
