Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity in Phoenix, AZ with a manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys supervising daily accounting operations, improving processes, supporting month-end close, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

The Accounting Supervisor will work closely with the Accounting Director and lead accounting staff responsible for Accounts Payable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, vendor issue resolution, and internal controls. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who wants to contribute to a stable business environment, mentor team members, and play an important role in operational and financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, general ledger activity, invoice processing, expense reports, and payment runs.
- Prepare and review month-end close tasks, including accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and variance explanations.
- Monitor AP aging, vendor statement reconciliations, vendor discrepancies, inventory-related expenses, freight costs, and branch operational expenses.
- Maintain and enforce accounting policies, documentation standards, internal controls, purchasing policy compliance, and tax reporting requirements such as 1099 processing.
- Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff while managing workloads, priorities, performance, and process consistency.
- Partner with purchasing, warehouse, branch, audit, and leadership teams to resolve discrepancies, support budgeting and forecasting, and identify process improvements.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
- Job type: Direct hire.
- Location: Phoenix, AZ.
