Senior Strategist

The Zimmerman Agency is looking for a Senior Strategist who wants to be in the middle of that process—asking better questions, uncovering audience motivations, and helping turn insights into ideas that deliver measurable business results. We’re a hyper-integrated agency bringing advertising, public relations, digital channel marketing, and social media together. You’ll help shape the thinking that connects those disciplines, giving every campaign a clear strategic foundation and room for creative ambition. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who enjoys doing the work and bringing others into it. You’ll report directly to the President and work closely with creative, account, PR, digital, and social teams. What you’ll do Uncover what matters. Use quantitative and qualitative research, audience data, cultural trends, and emerging AI tools to reveal actionable insights. Give ideas a strong foundation. Develop compelling strategy frameworks, positioning, audience priorities, and creative briefs that inspire better work. Lead the room. Design and facilitate workshops and collaborative strategy sessions that help clients and internal teams reach clarity and build momentum. Contribute to the creative product. Stay involved from the first conversation through campaign development, helping teams sharpen ideas and connect them to audience needs. Connect the campaign. Guide strategic thinking across advertising, PR, digital, and social so the work builds toward shared business goals. Help win new business. Bring sharp thinking, persuasive storytelling, and confident presentation skills to pitches and growth opportunities. Make the work accountable. Define success with clients and teams, then use results to refine the strategy. What you’ll bring At least five years of agency experience, with a track record of translating research and audience understanding into effective brand and campaign strategy. You can find the meaningful signal in a mountain of information—and explain it in a way that makes people want to act. You’re comfortable presenting to clients, leading workshops, challenging assumptions constructively, and motivating teams without needing to own every idea. You know how to use AI to deepen and accelerate research while applying sound judgment to its outputs. You’re curious about people, generous with collaborators, and invested in the quality of the creative work.
