• Assist attorneys with the day-to-day management of DBA and Longshore cases.
\n
• Maintain organized, accurate, and current electronic case files.
\n
• Monitor case deadlines, tasks, follow-ups, and outstanding items.
\n
• Review incoming correspondence and case documents and ensure appropriate action is taken.
\n
• Obtain, organize, and maintain medical records, employment records, claim documents, correspondence, and other case materials.
\n
• Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients regarding case updates, appointments, documents, and information needed by the legal team.
\n
• Follow up proactively with clients and third parties regarding outstanding records, documents, authorizations, and other case needs.
\n
• Assist attorneys in preparing case materials, exhibits, medical chronologies, summaries, and supporting documentation.
\n
• Assist with materials related to briefs, discovery, depositions, hearings, and other case deadlines.
\n
• Review files for missing information, inconsistencies, upcoming deadlines, and unresolved issues.
\n
• Bring substantive issues or concerns to the responsible attorney’s attention promptly.
\n
• Maintain accurate and contemporaneous case notes.
\n
• Follow firm procedures for confidentiality, document management, cybersecurity, technology, and approved uses of AI and automation.

• Knows the status of assigned cases and what remains outstanding.
\n
• Keeps deadlines and follow-ups from slipping through the cracks.
\n
• Reviews incoming information rather than simply filing it.
\n
• Recognizes when something requires attorney attention and raises it promptly.

• Produces organized, accurate work attorneys can confidently rely upon.

• Keeps clients appropriately informed and treats them with professionalism and respect.

• Prior professional experience as a paralegal or in a comparable substantive legal-support position.
\n
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple active legal matters, deadlines, and competing priorities.

• Excellent organizational, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
\n
• Professional and compassionate client-service skills.
\n
• Ability to work independently and remain responsive in a fully remote environment.

• Experience with Defense Base Act (DBA), Longshore Act, workers’ compensation, personal injury, disability, litigation, administrative law, or claimant-side practice.
\n
• Prior experience with medical-record review and organization, discovery, deposition preparation, hearing preparation, or brief-related support.
\n
• Experience working within electronic case-management systems and document-management systems.
\n
• Experience supporting a fully remote legal team.
\n
