Patient Registration Representative | Per Diem

Wills Eye Hospital is hiring a  Patient Registration Representative in  Philadelphia, PA . In this role, you’ll be responsible for greeting and registering all patients who present themselves for inpatient/ambulatory surgical procedures. You will also be responsible for leading construction of new electronic and paper patient charts for impending procedures. This is a Per Diem opportunity for someone who wants to blend patient interaction, administrative expertise , and contribution to the smooth operation of healthcare services.

In this role, you’ll support patients, providers, and clinical teams while helping deliver high-quality ophthalmic care. You’ll manage the comprehensive administrative and logistical workflow of patient registration and pre-operative support and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Greets all patients, family members, hospital staff, and visitors in a manner which is respectful and courteous.
• Checks-in patients, verifies all demographic and insurance information, collects all required co-pays, and updates account information as necessary.
• Effectively communicates patient arrival information and registration status to pre-op nursing staff.
• Leads the construction and completion of electronic and paper charts for impending procedures.
• Assists in the filing, collating, and scanning of patient medical record documentation, as needed.
• Ensures that existing patient files are maintained in an orderly fashion and contain all necessary pre-admission testing documentation during registration process.
• Notifies billing and corrects insurance/billing information that is erroneously entered into surgical software system in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required .

• 1 year of related healthcare, registration, physician billing, surgical scheduling, and/or medical office experience required.

• Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
