What You'll Do As an Experienced Finish Carpenter at SJ Janis, you'll work on high-end residential remodeling projects throughout the Milwaukee area alongside Lead Carpenters and skilled tradespeople. This role requires strong finish carpentry skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to work independently while maintaining SJ Janis quality standards. Responsibilities Include: Perform rough and finish carpentry at a high level with minimal supervision Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, work orders, and change orders Install framing, cabinetry, doors, windows, drywall, trim, base, casing, and crown molding Complete detailed finish work with superior craftsmanship Assist with basic repairs related to painting, plumbing, electrical, flooring, and staining Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites Protect company tools, materials, and client homes Communicate effectively with Lead Carpenters and Production Managers Deliver an exceptional client experience on every project What We're Looking For Minimum 4 years of carpentry experience Strong rough and finish carpentry skills Ability to read and understand construction documents High attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship Positive, team-oriented attitude Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with good driving record Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding work consistently Professional appearance and strong communication skills Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to doing quality work Compensation & Benefits $37-$44/hour based on experience Full-time, year-round work Bi-weekly pay Opportunities for overtime Csr, phone, and truck sign allowance Health insurance 401(k) Paid holidays Paid time off Profit sharing Professional team environment Long-term career growth with a highly respected remodeling company Schedule Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility based on project needs.
