Registered Nurse

Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high‑quality, patient‑centered nursing care within a fast‑paced outpatient surgery center. The RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and coordinated care throughout the perioperative process. The RN is responsible for assessing patients, preparing them for surgery, supporting intraoperative needs as assigned, and delivering comprehensive post‑operative care and education. The RN collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes, maintain compliance with regulatory standards, and support smooth surgical throughput. Schedule PRN, as needed Compensation Starting hourly compensation range: $37.00 - $42.00. Exact pay may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Responsibilities Assist the anesthesiologist and medical director with patient care in the OR. Start IVs and pre‑op patients in preparation for surgery. Receive patients from the OR and perform assessments at admission and discharge, recording information on the recovery room record. Observe and monitor post‑op patients, taking vital signs, EKG monitoring, oximetry, and documenting vital signs on recovery room records. Identify arrhythmias by constant monitoring and interpreting EKGs, and provide nursing intervention per physician orders. Administer medications, IVs, and prescriptions, maintaining records of dispensing; observe patient reactions and act appropriately if untoward reactions occur. Establish a compassionate environment, assuring patients of support and care. Perform or assist physicians with non‑sterile and sterile dressing changes and procedures. Provide immediate respiratory assistance or support in emergency situations, including the use of an AMBU bag, administration of CPR, and venipuncture. Provide post‑op teaching to patients and facilitate discharge. Check, maintain, and understand the STAT kit and CRASH cart. Recognize and utilize safety precautions and procedures. Maintain a comfortable, safe, and clean environment for the recovery area. Remain familiar with equipment and supplies—location, function, and upkeep—and restock units when necessary. Perform other job‑related duties as assigned. Requirements Accredited nursing school graduate with a current California State Board of Nursing RN license. Current BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred. Previous recovery room or acute care experience preferred; new graduates welcome. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
