As a Direct Care Professional (DCP), you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need. As a DCP, you will also use your experience and education in Psychology, Sociology, Education or other related field to:

• Actively assist our individuals with their individualized plans for daily living and ensure our individuals are safe, healthy, and living in a clean environment.

• Assist with the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs.

• Plan and participate in community outings, and schedule/transport our individuals to doctor's appointments, shopping trips, and day programs/schools.

• Be a mentor to other staff and conduct observations and provide feedback for required trainings.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional and behavioral differences, and dual diagnoses. This position is responsible for assisting individuals in daily activities, including health and personal management, achieving personal goals, recreation, and daily household living, as well as maintaining a safe and therapeutic treatment environment that meets the physical, emotional, and personal needs of program individuals while improving functioning and minimizing interfering behaviors.

Salary: (commensurate with education and experience)

With BA/BS - $21.00 - $22.47 per hour

With MA/MS or higher - $22.00 - $23.54 per hour

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the areas of psychology, sociology, social work, education or other related field is required or High School Diploma with 12 years of relevant Human Service experience.
• Previous experience preferred (not required) working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders, complex post-traumatic stress disorder, co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders.
