Location Avera Behavioral Health Center, Sioux Falls Position Summary Registered Nurse (RN) – Work Shift: Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays Pay $24.50 – $48.50 per hour, depending on experience. Eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $15,000. Unit Overview The Adult B Unit is a structured, therapeutic environment for adults with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and suicidal behavior. The unit has 28 beds and supports a 1 RN to 7–8 patient ratio. Key Responsibilities Provide nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing care objectives, and defining interventions. Review physician prescriptions and coordinate with health‑care providers. Offer physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Document patient care in charts and maintain patient supplies. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment, following infection‑control policies and medication protocols. Teach patients and family members about condition, medications, and self‑care skills. Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, re‑evaluating care objectives as needed. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing license required. Active state nursing license. Excellent communication skills and ability to work the specified shift schedule. Minimum 1–3 years of clinical experience (preferred). Ability to perform visual tasks, communicate effectively, and follow legal and safety regulations. Commitment to Avera’s mission, values, and standards.
