Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:

The High Risk L&D RN provides specialized nursing care for patients in a high-risk obstetrics setting, ensuring comprehensive assessment, education, and delivery of care. The role involves coordinating patient care plans and fostering collaboration among patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients' obstetric and high-risk conditions to develop individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Deliver direct patient care, monitoring maternal and fetal statuses continuously.
  
  
• 
  Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and high-risk factors.
  
  
• 
  Coordinate transitions of care, including pre- and post-delivery procedures and discharge planning.
  
  
• 
  Maintain open, effective communication with healthcare providers and support teams.
  
  
• 
  Comply with clinical and hospital policies, ensuring documentation accuracy and timely reporting.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid California RN license.
  
  
• 
  Possess BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN certifications.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate at least 2 years of experience in obstetrics, specifically high-risk deliveries.
  
  
• 
  Be able to pass on-site advanced EKG testing with an 80% score.
  
  
• 
  Have experience with Epic electronic medical records.
  
  
• 
  Be flexible to work day shifts with a weekend rotation; on-call not required.
