Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The primary purpose of the Athletic Trainer is to support the university's comprehensive sports medical program by being responsible for the recognition, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning for injuries that occur to UNCW's varsity athletes. This position will provide training coverage for UNCW Athletics, apply professional judgment and discretion to each medical case, advise coaches on return to competition for student-athletes, and demonstrate discretion and sound judgment in working with confidential information and the well-being of the student-athletes. This is a full-time 12-month position, with benefits. This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act). This position will be required to complete annual training about reporting responsibilities and report Clery crimes that occur within one of three categories of properties: On-Campus property, Non-Campus Property, or Public Property. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

- Experience as a full-time, certified athletic trainer at the college/ university level.
- Certifications such as Active Release Technique; IASTM, Performance Enhancement Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Functional Movement Screen, or Dry Needling.
- Professional Rescuer CPR and First Aid certified AED certified.
- National Athletic Trainers' Association Board Certification - NATABOC
- Possession of NC Athletic Training licensure or must acquire within 90 days
