Cardiac Catheterization Technologist

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist conducts specialized examinations in cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular studies, and electrophysiology studies. This role serves as a lead worker and resource to medical and clinical staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities while providing safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the intra-procedure team to provide safe patient care and participate in Universal Protocol and site marking identification, as applicable.
• Assist in the identification, preparation, and draping of patients as well as room preparation for routine procedures.
• Communicate with physicians regarding protocols for routine procedures and select equipment according to the protocols and standards.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment, conducting preventive maintenance procedures and reporting issues to ensure operability.
• Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction, making recommendations to supervisors and monitoring results.
• Stay updated on advancements in cardiovascular technology through continuous education and professional engagement.
• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements in the cardiac labs area.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Special Procedures or Cath/EP cases (required).
• Active ARRT or RCIS certification (required).
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association (required).
• State of Texas Medical Radiologic License (required).
• Experience in a critical care setting (ICU, ED, etc.) or previous Cath/EP Lab setting is preferred.
• Previous travel experience is highly preferred.

Schedule

This position entails 10-hour day shifts with guaranteed 40 hours per week and rotating on-call responsibilities, including a required Sunday rotation.
