Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant is to proactively participate in the Finance Department's daily production review and analysis of all costs for the manufacturing site, directly reporting to the Senior Manager Finance. The role includes:

• Leading and monitoring the work order closure process
• Performing all cost accounting responsibilities for month-end close
• Reviewing and entering daily production and consumption records
• Performing finance verification of monthly raw material, WIP, and finished good inventory cycle counts. Auditing and maintaining the cycle count documentation from all cycle counts, ensuring its accuracy and completeness. Ensuring the site maintains compliance with counting frequency and completeness requirements
• Monitoring inventory and facilitating the paperwork approval, tracking, and filing process to maintain accuracy
• Analyzing data for discrepancies in manufactured product costs, by reviewing the manufacturing variances and identifying any discrepancies in routings or bills of materials
• Performing roll of standard costs and ensuring all active raw materials and intermediate items have accurate standard costs
• Ensuring integrity of standard costs and item attributes that impact costing or standard accounting flows
• Assisting in annual budget process with standard cost rate development
• Performing other monthly and quarterly financial reports as necessary

The candidate should have:

• 3 to 5 years' experience in cost accounting or manufacturing
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field of study
• Advanced proficiency with various ERP systems, Sage or JDE preferred
• Advanced PC skills, including advanced spreadsheet functions (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, formulas)
• Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds
