Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

• Installs, maintains, modifies, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs secondary power distribution systems, secure electrical infrastructure, and building electrical systems, including conduits, transformers, motor controls, and emergency power systems.
• Performs journey-level electrician duties for specialized ICD 705-compliant Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) construction and TEMPEST-capable infrastructure projects, ensuring strict adherence to secure construction standards, grounding, and bonding requirements.
• Works from building plans, blueprints, secure construction drawings, and wiring diagrams to plan and lay out the routing, placement, type, and size of electrical lines, circuits, and equipment for safe and compliant operation.
• Identifies electrical system deficiencies, equipment malfunctions, and unsafe operating conditions; determines corrective actions and performs all necessary repairs, installations, and modifications to maintain operational readiness.
• Coordinates work activities with project managers, engineering personnel, quality assurance, and security personnel during secure construction operations and infrastructure modifications.
