Shipping Supervisor 1st Shift

Location: Ashtabula, OH
Shift: MondayFriday | 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Pay: based on experience

Position Summary
A growing manufacturing facility in Ashtabula, OH is seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to oversee daily shipping operations on 1st shift. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time, maintaining inventory accuracy, supervising shipping personnel, and promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with previous experience in warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing operations who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

* Supervise and coordinate all daily shipping activities to ensure accurate and timely customer deliveries.
* Lead, train, coach, and support shipping personnel while fostering a positive and productive team environment.
* Schedule daily workloads and assign tasks to maximize efficiency and productivity.
* Verify shipping documentation, bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier paperwork for accuracy.
* Coordinate inbound and outbound freight with carriers, vendors, and internal departments.
* Monitor inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts and inventory control activities.
* Ensure products are packaged, labeled, and shipped according to customer specifications.
* Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA standards.
* Troubleshoot shipping issues and identify opportunities for process improvements.
* Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Receiving, and Customer Service to meet production and delivery schedules.
* Monitor shipping supplies and department equipment to ensure operational readiness.
* Maintain accurate shipping records and department performance metrics.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED required.
* Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a shipping, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment preferred.
* Minimum of **3 years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience**.
* Experience with inventory control, shipping documentation, and freight coordination.
* Knowledge of warehouse operations and shipping best practices.
* Forklift experience preferred.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP or shipping software experience is a plus.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
