Job Opportunity – Nurse Practitioner (NP) Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery – Ohio

Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with floor call/beeper 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM; Saturday and Sunday 24-hour onsite support with floor call or OR call

Highlights:

• Initial assignment from September 8-18, 2026, with ongoing coverage needs of 1-2 weeks per month through 2027
• Inpatient hospital-based practice serving adult and geriatric populations with 20-26 patients per day
• Comprehensive cardiothoracic and vascular surgery services at a Level 2 Trauma facility
• Epic EMR system for documentation and workflow
• Temporary privileges potentially available within one week with clean file and quick submission
• Full travel reimbursements provided: airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage at IRS rate

Requirements:

• Board Certification in Vascular Surgery (required)
• Active Ohio state license (must already be held; will not accept providers needing to obtain)
• Active ACLS certification
• Active DEA registration
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery services
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues
• Ability to perform vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for use as a bypass conduit

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Postoperative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients
• Assist in emergency and scheduled cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures
• Take consults and referrals from the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and hospital providers
• Daily patient rounding on 20-26 inpatients
• Coordination of care, write prescriptions, order and interpret diagnostic tests
• May supervise or teach other clinical staff
