From our beginnings as a premier marine coatings company, we've grown into a multi-craft leader specializing in surface preparation, protective coatings, scaffolding, and industrial access solutions.We're seeking a Staff Accountant to prepare and maintain financial records to track organization assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.Pay: $65,000-$75,000 DOEWhat You'll DoAs a Staff Accountant, you will support the accounting and finance function through accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable activities, budgeting, tax reporting, fixed asset management, and month-end close activities. You will work closely with other departments and provide financial information and analysis as requested.Essential ResponsibilitiesEnsure adherence to accounting, finance, and payroll department quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.Communicate with other departments and divisions of the Company in support of overall goals and objectives.Respond to inquiries and provide data analysis as requested by various departments.Participate in and support accounting close cycles, including reconciliations and ad hoc analysis.Code invoices, establish new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist with closing the monthly books.Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets and prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to appropriate accounts.Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manage accounts receivable collections.Support internal and external audit procedures and practices.Work with the Purchasing department to ensure accuracy in posting dates and codes.Manage fixed assets, including accumulation of costs for CAPEX projects and monthly depreciation.Oversee special projects as directed by the Controller and/or Chief Financial Officer.Assist in maintaining and monitoring systems of internal controls that verify the integrity of systems, processes, and data.File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.Coordinate with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems and recommend updates to enhance accounting functionality.Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years of related experience preferred.Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and accounting software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Physical RequirementsMost work is performed in an office environment.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 15 pounds infrequently.May be required to climb stairs and ladders.BenefitsMain Industries offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family.Benefits include:Competitive Hourly PayPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysMedical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) Retirement Savings PlanCareer Growth OpportunitiesStable, Year-Round EmploymentWhy Main Industries?Celebrating over 50 years of industry leadership.Safety-first culture.Hands-on experience supporting specialized marine surface preparation operations.Opportunities to develop abrasive blasting skills and advance into additional craft positions.Opportunities for advancement and specialized training.Team-oriented environment where your contributions make a difference.Main Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
