Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Cardiac OR RN will coordinate and assist in cardiac open heart and vascular surgeries, ensuring optimal patient care and sterile procedures. They will utilize Epic and collaborate with surgical teams to support complex cardiovascular procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform circulating duties during cardiac open heart surgeries, including CABG, heart valve repairs, and valve replacements.
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies for cardiac procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams to ensure smooth surgical flow.
• Monitor and document patient status before, during, and after surgeries in the electronic medical record.
• Provide on-call coverage, including weekends, nights, and 24-hour on-call shifts, to respond to emergencies.
• Maintain compliance with sterile techniques and infection control protocols throughout procedures.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with current certification.
• Have at least two years of circulating experience in cardiovascular or cardiac OR settings.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Epic electronic medical records.
• Possess experience in general, vascular, and cardiac open heart surgeries.
• Be experienced in circulating for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedures, heart valve surgeries, and related cardiovascular cases.
• Capable of working on-call 1-2 nights per week, including weekends and night shifts.
