Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) position is available on nights in an acute care hospital located in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 23-bed unit, with a focus on neurological and trauma-related conditions. Candidates are required to bring their Illinois license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Location: Springfield, Illinois

• Shift: Nights, starting at 6:45 PM, with 3x12-hour shifts per week, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois license, BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications, minimum of 1 year experience in a Med/Surg setting, travel experience, Cerner charting system experience, flu vaccine.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital experience.
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS (AHA and Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted).
• Additional Requirements: Candidate must have experience with cerebrovascular accident (CVA), spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, and peripheral line care/management. Previous charge experience and Cerner EMR system familiarity are preferred.
• Schedule and Operational Details: Night shift with a start time of 6:45 PM, 3 shift workdays per week. Candidate must work at least 2 out of 3 major holidays. Float within hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals is required.
• Experience and Licensure: No minimum experience requirement beyond the 1 year specified; must have Illinois license in hand at submission.
• Additional notes: Must be flexible to work weekends, and able to submit 2-3 interview times upon application. Pending references are acceptable, but all licensing, vaccination, and compliance requirements must be verified prior to start.
