Collections Specialist

Piper Companies is seeking a Collections Specialist to join an established organization within the medical device and ophthalmic healthcare industry for an onsite contract position based out of Raleigh, NC . The Collections Specialist will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the business by managing receivables, engaging with customers to resolve past‑due balances, and strengthening overall cash flow while maintaining positive customer relationships. Responsibilities Proactively follow up on outstanding customer balances through phone, email, and written outreach while documenting all activity accurately. Review aging reports regularly to prioritize delinquent accounts and elevate collection efforts as needed. Issue customer invoices, statements, and collection notices in accordance with internal procedures. Address billing questions and payment disputes by partnering with internal teams such as Sales, Finance, and Operations. Establish and manage payment arrangements in alignment with company guidelines and compliance standards. Qualifications High school diploma required; associate degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer collections, accounts receivable, or payment processing in B2B and B2C environments. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate professionally and resolve conflicts. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented setting. High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail with strong follow‑through skills.
