Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Quality Inspector – 2nd Shift in Indianapolis, IN. The hourly rate for this position is $23 plus $1/hr shift differential. The role involves conducting audits, reviewing processes, and implementing corrective actions to maintain the integrity of the supply chain and distribution operations. The position will play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring that all automotive parts meet or exceed required specifications. Job duties include in‑process evaluation, final evaluation, receiving evaluation, parts evaluation, containment of quality issues, data management, and other assigned tasks. Essential Functions Conduct routine and non‑routine audits of the distribution center’s processes, procedures, and products. Review incoming and outgoing shipments to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications. Analyze audit results and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to address non‑conformances. Document audit findings, maintain records, and prepare detailed reports for management. Work closely with Quality Engineers, ELC staff, and suppliers to ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly. Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control. Participate in training programs to educate staff on quality standards and procedures. Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the automotive industry. Identify areas of risk and provide recommendations to minimize defects or process inefficiencies. Maintain control system paperwork and perform other administrative duties as required. Participate in 5S+ and Lean activities. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications 1–2 years of experience applying quality tools in a warehouse/distribution center or manufacturing environment. Must be able to reside within a 50‑mile radius of Indianapolis, IN, unless an active duty military exemption applies. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Must be able to work specific shift hours and have flexibility to work overtime based on customer demand. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 3+ years of experience in a warehouse/distribution center environment.
