Here, you can apply your passion and collaborate with top environmental professionals on work that’s vital to our clients and the communities they serve.Join a team that’s naturally committed to the environment.Stantec’s Environmental Services practice seeks a Project Manager and Senior Environmental Permitter with demonstrated experience in Massachusetts, to lead environmental regulatory and project permitting efforts, provide project and client management, and support business development opportunities.Your Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental regulatory and permitting responsibilities include:Identifying project-specific environmental regulatory requirementsCoordinating with resource agency personnelWriting and reviewing technical reportsDeveloping environmental permit applications (federal, state, and local)Presenting at public meetingsFacilitating successful environmental permitting of multiple and varied projects.Project management responsibilities may include:Developing proposalsManaging projects and budgetsBuilding and managing project teamsCoordinating with clients, subcontractors, stakeholders, and internal project staffPerforming and overseeing project technical workBusiness development responsibilities may include:Maintaining existing client relations and collaborating to develop and pursue new clients and opportunities.Additional responsibilities may include coordinating, conducting, and/or leading field work.The Project Manager must solve problems of significant complexity by providing original, innovative, practical, and economical solutions. Work involves planning, directing, and coordinating complex assignments/projects, modifying established guidelines, and initiating new approaches. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of or experience with coastal resilience planning and permitting, restoration, and adaptation strategies, and will be interested in supporting the firms coastal initiatives.Your Capabilities and CredentialsDemonstrated experience with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting in Massachusetts including regulatory coordination and permit application development.Desired experience with waterfront and in-water permitting experience for climate resiliency projects and infrastructure projects in the City of Boston.Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations such as the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, MESA, MEPA, CEPA, Chapter 91 and Sections 401, 404, and 408 of the Clean Water Act.Ability to effectively present information and represent clients in a public setting, such as a local conservation commission meeting or public informational meeting.10 years (or more) of project management and environmental permitting experience is preferred.Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals, invitations for bid and tendering offers."Hands-on" experience in managing permitting applications and projects from start to finish.Knowledge of computer applications and functions, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Proven experience working in a team environment.Ability to review project work, quantities, costs, accuracy of specifications, completeness, and constructability.Demonstrated experience meeting project deadlines in a cost-effective manner.Excellent verbal and written communication, including advanced technical writing abilities.Demonstrated ability to maintain and establish positive working relationships.Must be able to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.Ability to perform work accurately in a detailed-oriented environment.Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence and other written materials.The successful candidate will be self-motivated and looking to take the next step in their career. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave.
