Senior Human Resources Specialist

In this role, you will serve as the Senior Human Resources Specialist for BD Advanced Patient Monitoring (APM), helping address people and organizational challenges. The position focuses on resolving complex HR matters, partnering with HR specialists and shared services, and supporting front-line managers through coaching and guidance. Role Location and Work Arrangement Primary work location: USA CA - Irvine Laguna Canyon Workplace arrangement: Onsite In-office presence requirement: Minimum of 4 days per week Minimum Qualifications Education: Master’s degree (or Bachelor’s degree in a related field) Experience: Minimum 5 years of HR experience with a bachelor’s degree; minimum 3 years of experience required with a master’s degree Key Responsibilities Provide front-line manager coaching across HR topics including career development, pay review, performance management, and team dynamics. Resolve complex HR issues (tier 2) by partnering with COEs and the HR Solutions shared services team, including Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Relations for assigned areas and business units. Conduct complex analysis , develop and propose alternative solutions, and provide recommendations for talent initiatives . Perform front line HR duties for the assigned business unit, including interpreting policy/program guidance and advising management on local compliance and regulatory requirements. Assess HR issues requiring considerable judgment and risk management when enabling workforce (EW) policies and practices do not exist. Develop and continuously improve processes, tools, and systems in collaboration with HR COE teams. Required Skills and Experience Experience managing common workforce issues. Experience providing feedback and coaching to managers and employees. Experience with enabling technologies (case management, employee self-service, and manager self-service) and understanding their operation within a customer service environment; ServiceNow preferred . Experience with Microsoft tools and applications. Exceptional customer service orientation. Effective facilitation and presentation skills. Creative problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, including influencing, consulting, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management to drive achievement of objectives. Substantial knowledge of relevant employment laws and awareness of ongoing changes in the labor and business market. Thorough understanding of human resources processes and/or systems. Proven success leading local, regional, or global projects and driving adoption. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and sensitivity to compliance-related matters. Ability to make decisions among different alternatives without relying on formulas or guidelines. Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels while establishing a positive reputation.
