Job Description

• Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope of work
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, paving, and other sitework components
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
• Calculate costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work
• Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates and proposals for bids
• Identify project risks, constraints, and value engineering opportunities
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients during preconstruction
• Maintain cost databases and historical pricing for future estimates
• Prepare bid packages and ensure submissions meet deadlines and requirements
• Support project handoff by providing budgets, scopes, and assumptions to operations teams

The Successful Applicant

• Strong leadership skills to supervise crews, subcontractors, and field operations effectively
• Extensive experience in civil/sitework construction such as earthwork, utilities, and paving
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules accurately
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
• Deep understanding of safety regulations and commitment to enforcing OSHA standards
• Excellent problem-solving skills to address field challenges and unforeseen issues
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients
• High level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Working knowledge of construction equipment, sequencing, and site logistics
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality control and workmanship
