Pharmacy Floor Technician

Schedule:

Week 1: Opening Shift, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Week 2: Closing Shift, 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM
Weekends: Every other Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Overtime, holidays, and additional weekend coverage may be required as business needs dictate.

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Floor Technician is responsible for accurately preparing prescription medications for final pharmacist verification. This role supports pharmacy operations by ensuring medications are properly selected, labeled, scanned, packaged, and processed while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately and efficiently fill daily medication orders under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Pick and pull medications from shelving units, prepack racks, and other medication storage areas.
Label, scan, and prepare prescription products for pharmacist verification.
Alert the pharmacist of any medication or product that does not scan correctly or presents discrepancies.
Assist with the processing, return, recycling, and disposal of medications according to established procedures.
Support the prepackaging of frequently ordered medications, including labeling and proper storage during low-volume periods.
Manually package pharmacy materials and products for distribution.
Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked workstation.
Replenish inventory and supplies as needed to support workflow efficiency.
Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and company regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
Comply with departmental standards related to safety, attendance, dress code, and quality assurance.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
Must possess and maintain an active, unrestricted Texas Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.
Experience working in a retail, mail-order, specialty, or long-term care pharmacy environment is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move intermittently throughout the workday.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, up to 7 to 10 hours per shift.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Manual dexterity required to operate equipment and handle medication packaging.
Visual acuity sufficient to read fine print, distinguish colors, and adjust focus as needed.
Ability to hear and respond to normal conversational speech and workplace sounds.
May be required to work extended hours based on operational needs.
