Job Description Senior Consultant in AECOM Advisory supporting a global Advisory business line focused on economic, environmental and social vibrancy. Locations: Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Chicago, IL. Role Define, lead and manage multiple tasks within a workstream as part of larger engagements. Responsibilities include consulting, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and business development support. Key Responsibilities Apply existing and develop new solution frameworks to deconstruct, dimensionalize and analyze client problems. Leverage AI tools for baseline assessments and secondary research. Conduct stakeholder interviews, including C‑suite and senior management. Perform business modeling (market sizing, segmentation, penetration, adoption) and investment analysis with custom Excel DCF models to calculate revenue, cost‑benefit analyses, EBITDA, NPV, IRR, CAGR. Use analytical and data visualization tools (ArcGIS, Costar, IMPLAN, Python, Tableau) to derive insights and inform recommendations. Oversee and provide quality control for junior team analytical tasks. Create polished executive‑ready decks, slide decks, written narratives, playbooks, dashboards and toolkits. Synthesize multiple inputs into coherent insights across formats. Additional Responsibilities Develop solutions architecture and frameworks to meet client needs. Engage in technical writing and long‑form narrative development. Create pitch decks and define AECOM Advisory’s value proposition. Apply commercial acumen to client budgets, requirements and research. Support logistical and administrative processes for risk management and compliance. Desired Competencies Functional experience in: Data science analytical techniques and public datasets (BLS, BEA, NAICS, ACS). Geospatial datasets and software (ArcGIS). Input‑output or general equilibrium economic modeling tools (Esmi, IMPLAN, REMI). Stata, R, Python and other programming languages. Data visualization techniques (PowerBI or Tableau). Domain expertise in at least one of the following (desired, but not required): Corporate or enterprise/organizational assessment. Project finance and/or infrastructure investment appraisal. Sustainability, climate change, net‑zero and ESG strategies and frameworks, including non‑financial valuation methodologies. Economic development, industrial policy and market transformation. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of management consulting or related experience (e.g., technical consulting, analyst roles in business, public policy, economics research, private equity, investment banking, corporate strategy). Equivalent experience and/or education considered. Preferred: MBA or other Master’s degree in Operational Research, Management, Management Science, Finance, Economics, Systems Engineering or related fields. Bachelor's degree in STEM disciplines. Compensation Expected range $100,000.00 – $150,000.00, location and individual qualifications based.
