Requirements

What You'll Do

As a CNC Machinist, you'll play a key role in producing high-quality precision components while continuously improving processes and machining strategies.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate 3-axis CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers and turning centers

• Develop machining processes, tooling selections, setups, and part programs for custom projects

• Machine components to moderate tolerances (±0.005") while maintaining exceptional quality standards

• Interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements

• Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring equipment

• Manufacture custom precision components supporting large industrial repair projects

• Collaborate with machinists, engineers, field service teams, and supervisors to determine the most efficient manufacturing methods

• Optimize CNC programs, tooling, and machining processes for quality and productivity improvements

• Set up and operate CNC boring mills, lathes, and machining centers

• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area

• Complete quality documentation and inspection records accurately

• Uphold and promote a culture where safety is always the highest priority

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• 2–3 years of CNC machining experience

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings

• Experience operating CNC machining equipment and performing setups

• Knowledge of feeds, speeds, cutting tools, and machining practices

• Ability to inspect and verify dimensions including diameters, lengths, flatness, and straightness

• Basic understanding of GD&T and conversational programming

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman certification or 2-year Technical Degree

• Experience with Haas machining centers (vertical, horizontal, and/or turning)

• Experience with G&L boring mills

• Experience with G & M code programming

• CAM software experience, preferably Mastercam

• Familiarity with carbide drills, end mills, inserted cutters, and boring tooling

• Experience machining ferrous and non-ferrous materials

• Experience using Faro CMM or advanced metrology equipment
