Director of Financial Reporting

Reports To: Controller

JOB SUMMARY

System wide responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Accounting department.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Certified Public Accountant preferred.
• Five years prior healthcare experience with prior management experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and computer-based accounting and information systems
• Written and oral communication skills to present financial information to department heads, clinical personnel without a financial background, and the Executive Team
• Poise, confidence and tact to interact with personnel from all levels of a faith-based organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Financial Reporting
• Responsible for all aspects of the monthly close process, including oversight of the preparation of and review of monthly financial statements.
• Responsible for all external financial reporting, including quarterly submissions to DAC and NJDOH
• Responsible for the review and accuracy of all balance sheet accounts
• Responsible for analytical review and follow-up with department heads regarding all material budget variances

Audit Management
• Responsible for the planning and execution of the annual financial statement and uniform guidance audits.
• Communicate regularly with external auditors.
• Coordinates audit requests submissions with staff and prepare all analytical reviews and selected accounting schedules.
• dherence to all other professional accounting standards and departmental policy and procedures

Tax Reporting
• Responsible for the planning and completion of Form 990 and 990T and all other tax forms
• Ensure all payroll taxes are paid timely.
• Coordinate payments for all taxes due to local municipalities.

Internal Control Structure
• Designs, maintains, and provides oversight of the organization's financial internal control structure.
• Designs, maintains, and provides oversight of the accounting policies and procedures to ensure the safeguarding of assets and accurate financial reporting.
• Reviews and authorizes disbursements and expenditures.
• Responsible for cash management responsibilities to ensure adequate cash reserves for operations and proper investment of excess cash reserves to realize investment income.

Departmental Management
• Responsible for selection, training, and evaluation of staff
• Supervises staff productivity, including management of overtime usage.
• Manages departmental costs in adherence to budget standards.
• Provides leadership and oversight of safety standards and program for departmental staff.
• ssumes leadership responsibility in the absence of the Controller.

Personal Responsibilities
• Observes established hospital and department policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safety, infection control and other environmental regulations.
• Works collaboratively with others toward improving organizational performance and supports goals and objectives of the organization.
• Meets organizational standard for attendance, punctuality, and use of break times.
• Maintains and enhances competency through in-services, staff meetings and educational programs.
