Senior Business Analyst

The Senior Business Analyst will lead comprehensive business analysis efforts to assess and document client business needs, enabling effective I&IT solutions aligned with government priorities. This hybrid role requires collaboration with stakeholders, application of advanced modeling techniques, and adherence to established methodologies to drive business improvements and support project success. Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct business analysis to identify and document business problems and opportunities.
• Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather and analyze requirements using JAD sessions, interviews, and mockups.
• Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and feasibility studies for I&IT initiatives.
• Apply business modeling techniques including use case, process, data flow, and conceptual/logical data modeling.
• Prepare and advise on business analysis policies, processes, best practices, and standards.
• Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and report to management and stakeholders.
• Facilitate agile product backlog grooming, creation of epics and user stories, and support prioritization efforts.
• Develop performance measures and traceability matrices for business analysis evaluation and follow-up.
• Work onsite three days per week and remotely two days per week, adhering to standard working hours.

• 8+ years of experience leading business analysis using UML (use cases, activity/sequence/state diagrams) and modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in requirements gathering processes including JAD sessions, interviews, and mockups.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to translate business and data requirements into technical specifications, including ETL requirements.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and facilitation of backlog grooming and user story development.
• Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related standards.
• Team player with flexibility and alignment to project vision, maintaining communication with project management.

• Experience with environmental and hazardous waste management systems, particularly MECP applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of soil management systems.
• Self-driven with ability to manage work independently.
• Proficiency in RDBMS SQL query development and execution.
• Familiarity with DevOps and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience in developing future state lean processes and change management.
• Risk management experience related to requirements.
• Skilled in IT tools such as Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, Figma, JIRA, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of information retrieval packages and Information Management principles.
