Job Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business needs and IT solutions by gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements. This role involves stakeholder engagement, process optimization, and supporting digital transformation initiatives using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. The position requires strong analytical skills, technical proficiency with business analysis tools, and experience in systems re-engineering to drive efficiency and automation. Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and document data, system, and business requirements.
- Develop use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria for IT solutions.
- Create and maintain process models including Visio and swim lane diagrams.
- Lead requirements workshops, JAD sessions, and stakeholder interviews.
- Facilitate communication between business users, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Support systems re-engineering and workflow optimization initiatives.
- Identify automation opportunities and contribute to digital transformation efforts.
- Utilize Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies in project delivery.
- Use business analysis and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and MS Teams.
- Proven experience in business and data analysis, including requirements management.
- Expertise in creating Visio and swim lane diagrams.
- Ability to define use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency in SQL and database analysis.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with data visualization and decision-making tools such as Power BI and Advanced Excel.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, or Cloud-based business solutions.
- Knowledge of process modeling tools like Lucidchart, MIRO, and Figma.
- Experience working in public sector environments, particularly Ontario Public Sector (OPS).
- Understanding of OPS governance frameworks including Stage Gate and ITIL.
