Senior Engineering Technician

Senior Engineering Technician - on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company - responsible for rapid prototyping and low-volume hardware assembly of automotive electronic systems. Responsibilities Follow detailed procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy and repeatability. Assist engineers in developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes for new products. Assemble and test a variety of electronic hardware from prototypes to short-run production builds. Support troubleshooting and propose alternative assembly techniques to resolve issues. Perform quality checks and act as a quality delegate, inspecting work of other technicians. Conduct final product testing according to written procedures and ensure documentation is complete and accurate. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring equipment is properly used and maintained. Communicate clearly and proactively to ensure work meets project timelines and quality expectations. Work independently on routine tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across teams. Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and punctuality. Qualifications Bachelor's degree is not required if equivalent experience is demonstrated. 6 to 8 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience, preferably in low-volume manufacturing. Strong knowledge of electronics assembly: soldering, crimping, pin insertion/removal, torque tools. Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical documents, and drawings. Proficient in standard assembly tools and hand instruments; lab experience with soldering, power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes. Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication. Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for data entry and documentation. Knowledge of IPC-610, IPC-620 or JSTD-10 standards. Hands-on experience with PLM software / 3D modeling or ERP (SAP/Oracle) is a plus. Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment with minimal oversight. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a lean, startup-style setting.
