Takes applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, submits loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval. Follows-up to ensure that documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner from appropriate sources. Incumbents are customarily and regularly engaged in making and soliciting loan sales and conducting sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations.This role has multiple levels, open to candidates with a minimum one year of mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experience. The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience.This role is posted as remote; however, candidates who are located near any one of our locations would be required to work on site at least three days per week.This position also requires 2 or more hours of driving per week.Required Qualifications:National Mortgage Licensing Service (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z and ongoing compliance with all legal or regulatory registration requirements, including, but not limited to maintaining a satisfactory criminal and credit recordHigh school diploma or equivalentOne or more years of mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experienceAbility to travelDesired Qualifications:Basic knowledge of pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companiesWorking knowledge of underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investorsBasic knowledge of local, state and national laws (e.g. zoning ordinances, Truth-in Lending, RESPA, energy audit requirements, etc.)Ability to work independentlyAbility to analyze financial informationEffective verbal and written communication skillsEstablished referral base within assigned market preferred2 years of mortgage loan origination experience with proven resultsLocation Expectations:This role may be designated as U.S. home-based remote.
