Perform chemical operation tasks; blending, extracting, drying, distillations, effecting size reductions with capability to perform and become certified in all processes involved in the full product line of the site. The Chemical Operator works a rotational schedule to meet maintain 24-hour operation of the manufacturing processes. This position is located at our Rochester, NY plant. Essential Job Functions Responsible for safe and efficient operation of assigned process areas such that all regulatory, health, safety and environmental requirements are satisfied. Must acquire a working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ISO requirements. Will handle hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste during the normal operation of this position. Constantly striving to improve process knowledge, obtain new certifications and maintain existing certifications. Informs supervision in a timely manner of conditions which may affect safety, quality, capacity or cause a process equipment hazard. Planning and responding to emergencies that involve hazardous waste. Qualifications & Experience HS Diploma or GED. Preferred Associate’s degree. 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment. Will consider entry level candidates. Chemical manufacturing or chemical experience background highly preferred. Familiar and comfortable with computers, and hand tools. May be required to work overtime as needed. Rotating Shift Schedule 2 day shifts on 12 hour days: 6:00 am to 6:30 pm. Then 24 hours off. 2 night shifts on 6:00 pm to 6:30 am. Then 3 days off. Repeat. (With this schedule, it shifts the start day by one day each week). If you start on Monday day, the following week will start your day shift on Tuesday, etc. All candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and will receive a shift differential. The expected salary range for this role is $24 - $32/hr; specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors permitted by law. This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
