The individual in this role is responsible for the preparation and timely completion of statutory financial statements and disclosures for filing with State regulators and the NAIC and monitoring changes in accounting/reporting guidance and new transactions and events. The individual in this role will also ensure quality and accuracy of disclosures and are in compliance with insurance statutory accounting principles.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepares life insurance company statutory annual and quarterly financial statements, and other reports, for filing with state insurance regulators and the NAICProvides insightful qualitative analysis around regulatory and legal entity reportingTeams with internal and external partners to understand prioritize and review specialized/complex analysis, reports and accounting transactions and implement any changes needed for reportingMaintain effective internal controls over financial reportingComplete requests from and communicate with external auditors and examiners/regulatorsAd hoc projectsAssists in the preparation and review of various state and insurance company filingsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field5 or more years’ experience - ideally with regulatory filingsProven ability to lead through change and handle detailed work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to problem solveStrategic and independent thinker with ability to quickly adapt to changeStrong oral and written communication skillsPreferred QualificationsAccounting degreeCPA licenseLife insurance company statutory reporting experienceAbility to navigate NAIC statutory accounting and reporting guidanceProficiency with Workday General LedgerDemonstrated decision-making skills, ability to prioritize tasks to understand the impact to the business and develop best practicesStrategic and independent thinker with the ability to quickly adapt to changeIn-Office CollaborationWe are a client-centric, relationship-based business. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
