Bar Manager Sinatra Bar & Lounge & The Southern Turf Club Position Summary Sinatra Bar & Lounge and The Southern Turf Club are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and hospitality-driven Bar Manager to oversee all bar operations across both concepts. This position is responsible for leading bar teams, maintaining exceptional guest experiences, driving profitability, controlling inventory and labor costs, and ensuring the highest standards of cocktail execution, wine and spirits knowledge, cleanliness, and professionalism. The ideal candidate thrives in high-volume, upscale hospitality environments and possesses strong leadership, organizational, and operational skills with a deep understanding of beverage programs, inventory management, and team development. Core Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and motivate bartenders, barbacks, and support staff Create a positive, professional, and accountable culture behind the bar Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new bar team members Conduct ongoing education on cocktails, wine, spirits, beer, service standards, and upselling techniques Coach team members on execution, timing, cleanliness, and guest interaction Write and manage bartender and barback schedules while maintaining labor goals Assist with disciplinary action, performance reviews, and conflict resolution when necessary Beverage Operations Maintain consistency and quality across all cocktails, wine service, beer service, and specialty beverages Oversee daily bar setup, prep, cleanliness, organization, and closing procedures Ensure bars are properly stocked, labeled, and prepared for service at all times Develop and maintain cocktail features, seasonal menus, and specialty offerings Work closely with ownership and management on beverage innovation and program development Maintain strong relationships with distributors and vendor representatives Inventory, Cost Control & Ordering Maintain strong working knowledge of bar cost, inventory systems, and product usage Place liquor, beer, wine, and NA beverage orders with approved vendors Monitor and manage pars to prevent outages while minimizing excess inventory and dead stock Conduct regular inventory counts and identify variances, waste, and opportunities for improvement Analyze PMIX reports, sales trends, and usage reports to optimize purchasing decisions Maintain accurate invoice processing and product receiving procedures Understand allocated liquors and specialty wine purchasing strategies Work proactively to reduce over-ordering, shrinkage, and unnecessary spending Loss Prevention & Accountability Maintain strict controls to identify and prevent theft, over-pouring, unauthorized comps, and product loss Monitor bartender cash handling procedures and ensure compliance with company standards Investigate inventory variances and operational inconsistencies Ensure all staff follow responsible alcohol service procedures and local/state liquor laws Guest Experience Lead by example in providing exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences Maintain a visible and active floor presence during service Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently Collaborate with management to elevate overall beverage and nightlife experiences Administrative & Operational Duties Maintain accurate schedules, inventory reports, ordering guides, and training materials Ensure all health department, sanitation, and safety standards are met Assist with private events, cocktail classes, holiday brunches, and specialty activations Collaborate with FOH and culinary leadership to ensure seamless service execution Participate in manager meetings, menu development, and operational planning Qualifications 3+ years of bar management experience in upscale, high-volume hospitality environments preferred Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, spirits, beer, and classic service standards Proven understanding of: Beverage cost controls Inventory management Labor management PMIX analysis Scheduling Vendor relations Allocated liquor programs Experience managing multiple bars or venues preferred Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and high-volume events Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to lead by example in both hospitality and professionalism Preferred Traits Passion for hospitality and guest experience Strong attention to detail and operational excellence Calm under pressure in fast-paced environments Creative mindset with interest in cocktail development and beverage trends Self-motivated, accountable, and solutions-oriented Team-first mentality with strong leadership presence Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Bonus opportunities based on performance Dining discounts Opportunity for growth within an expanding hospitality group Access to industry tastings, education, and vendor events Working at Sinatra Bar & Lounge - Health insurance
