You will play an important role in keeping public access areas safe and improving habitat for wildlife. As a Game Lands Maintenance Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:Habitat Maintenance: Develop habitat areas, maintain openings, and use tools such as chain saws to improve wildlife habitatEquipment Operation: Operate or assist with operating heavy equipment, machinery, and tools for construction and land managementTrail and Access Work: Build and maintain parking areas, trails, gates, and public access routes on game landsEnvironmental Tasks: Assist with prescribed burns, herbicide work, and snow removal activities as neededBoundary and Signage: Maintain boundary lines, post informational signs, and help survey new or existing land tractsWildlife Support: Assist wildlife officers with wildlife-related duties such as handling road-killed animals and supporting special management areasWork Schedule and Additional Information:3 Year Limited Term, Full-time employment, 40 hours per weekWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
