Commercial HVAC/R Technician

Company: Putnam Mechanical Location: Sarasota/Bradenton, FL Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $25.00 to $40.00 per hour, based on experience Schedule: Monday to Friday with on‑call rotation as needed About the Role Putnam Mechanical is hiring an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician to service commercial customers throughout the Sarasota/Bradenton area. This is a true service technician role, not a sales‑driven position. We are looking for a skilled mechanic who can troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. The right person will be dependable, professional with customers, and able to work independently in the field. What You’ll Do Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment Service walk‑in coolers, walk‑in freezers, reach‑in coolers, ice machines, and related refrigeration systems Perform preventative maintenance and identify needed repairs Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and the service team Complete service tickets, notes, photos, and documentation accurately Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a professional manner Follow company safety procedures and industry standards Participate in an on‑call rotation as needed What We’re Looking For 3+ years of HVAC/R service experience preferred Commercial refrigeration experience strongly preferred Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment independently EPA certification preferred Valid driver’s license Ability to pass required background, driving record, and drug screening requirements Strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills Ability to service customers throughout the Sarasota/Bradenton area Preferred Experience Walk‑in coolers and freezers Ice machines Reach‑in coolers Commercial kitchen refrigeration Light commercial HVAC systems Preventative maintenance programs Physical Requirements Lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials as needed Climb ladders and work from heights when required Work in indoor and outdoor environments Stand, bend, kneel, reach, and work in tight spaces Safely operate company vehicles and equipment Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Company‑provided service vehicle for work‑related travel and commuting to assigned job sites Paid time off Paid holidays Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match A service‑focused role with no pressure‑selling requirement Support from a team that understands the trade Schedule Full‑time Monday to Friday On‑call rotation as needed Overtime available Work Location This is a field‑based position servicing commercial customers throughout the Sarasota/Bradenton area. #J-18808-Ljbffr Shamrock Plumbing
