Configuration Management Analyst

ASRC Federal is seeking a Configuration Management (CM) Analyst to support enterprise IT systems through the development, implementation, and sustainment of configuration management processes. This role ensures accurate configuration identification, change control, auditing, documentation, and release management across the system lifecycle. In addition to core CM responsibilities, the CM Analyst will assist with data analysis, KPI reporting, compliance validation, and process improvement initiatives that strengthen governance and support informed decision-making.The ideal candidate possesses a strong attention to detail, experience working within structured CM methodologies, and a demonstrated ability to translate technical information into clear reports and metrics. This individual will collaborate closely with engineering, development, operations, and leadership teams to maintain baseline integrity, ensure audit readiness, and support continuous improvement.Location: Washington, DC Hybrid - 2 days in office and 3 days remoteClearance Required: SecretKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and maintain systems configuration management processes that support configuration identification, control, status accounting, auditing, and change verification.Perform configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure product operating parameters meet defined standards and remain logistically sustainable.Support configuration change processes, including documentation updates, change request tracking, version control, and baseline management.Design, document, and maintain build procedures and release processes that support product development, deployment, and sustainment.Identify, collect, catalog, release, and manage configuration information throughout the project lifecycle, including archiving and closeout activities.Implement appropriate access control levels to protect export‑controlled, proprietary, or sensitive project information.Conduct compliance audits, configuration verification, and gap analyses to ensure documentation, baselines, and system states remain consistent.Develop and maintain CM reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics/KPIs that support operational visibility and management decision-making.Analyze CM-related data to identify trends, risks, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.Prepare formal reports and presentations summarizing configuration posture, audit results, and recommendations.Support process improvement efforts, including enhancing CM workflows, documentation standards, and automation opportunities.May develop company-wide configuration standards and/or train staff on CM tools, procedures, and quality expectations.Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.2–4 years of experience in configuration management, release management, systems documentation, or related disciplines.Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, trend analysis, and reporting.Ability to create and maintain dashboards, metrics, performance indicators, and audit documentation.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel for reporting and analysis.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organization, and ensure accuracy in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.Knowledge of configuration management principles, version control, change management, and documentation standards.Preferred QualificationsExperience with CM tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Git, or similar enterprise platforms.Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization/reporting tools.Understanding of release engineering or build automation.Experience conducting compliance audits or configuration verification activities.Background working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid development environments.Tools & Technologies (Desired)CM/ITSM Tools: ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Git, GitLabReporting & Analytics: Power BI, Excel advanced functions, data visualization toolsDocumentation & Workflow Tools: SharePoint, VisioJobFamilyInformation TechnologyJobFunctionConfiguration ManagementPayTypeSalaryHiringMinRate62345HiringMaxRate105239
