The Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Schedule: This position is scheduled for 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with regular working hours between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. In addition, employees are required to work one late evening shift per week, typically on Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. until closing (approximately 7:00 p.m.). The specific schedule will be determined by the supervisor at the time of hire.Location: 4045 Hempstead Turnpike, Third Floor, Bethpage, NY 11714Primary Responsibilities:Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smileAssists patients with signing in and completing registrationFollow the payment Security policy and procedures according to Optum Medical guidelinesAnswers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messagesAbility to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions i.e. referrals, scheduling appointmentsMonitoring workflowEnters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into EpicVerifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefitsCollects co-payments and patient balancesAnswers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messagesAssists physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testingHandle resolution/inquiries from members and/or clinical teamAssist with onboarding new employeesResponsible in managing daily scheduleResponsible for EPIC superuser statusAbility to support all staff and leadership in their rolesPerforms all other related duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?
