New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS. You must be a new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive./ppReferral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current DHSS employees who refer new hires to the state in the following classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant. The program may be terminated by the State at any time./ppThe incumbent in this position will provide nursing services including, but not limited to direct care, assessments, and facilitating health care services to residents. Since class specifications are descriptive and not restrictive, incumbents can complete job duties of similar kind not specifically listed here./pulliProvides mentoring/orientation for newly hired/less experienced staff ensuring assignments are completed./liliLeads individual/group therapeutic processes/discussions involving reality orientation, sensory stimulation, range of motion exercise, and application of splints/braces./liliParticipates on interdisciplinary care team providing information about the individuals overall physical condition, abilities, and behavioral characteristics./liliEnsures aseptic integrity of feeding, catheter, and respiratory tubes/devices while assisting individual with personal hygiene./liliMonitors/records temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, nutritional intake/output. Alerts professional staff to significant physical/behavioral changes/irregularities./liliProvides oral/written description of individuals physical/behavioral change./liliObserves client/patient/resident activities, recording/reporting unusual/hazardous behavior. Conducts periodic rounds to ensure safety/well being of clients/patients/residents. Provides written/oral reports to describe unusual incidents./liliEscorts/is responsible for individuals traveling to social/recreational activities and medical appointments on/off campus./liliApplies appropriate interventions to prevent or de-escalate inappropriate behaviors./li/ulpJOB REQUIREMENTS for Certified Nursing Assistant/ppApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:/pulliPossession of a Delaware certification as a Nursing Assistant or eligibility for a Delaware certification./li/ulpThis posting may be closed on or before 10/14/2026 upon filling the vacant position(s)./ppAll new hires are required to attend an in-person, statewide mandatory New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment. The session will be held at a designated location in either Kent or New Castle County./ppA satisfactory criminal background check is required and must be covered by the applicant, with an estimated cost of $85.00.
