Clinician-Educator Position

Hillsboro Medical Center, an Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Partner, is seeking a clinician-educator to support the community-based primary care residency, provide exceptional patient care, and further the educational mission. This position is a full-time academic position in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Department of Internal Medicine at OHSU School of Medicine.

Faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics participate actively in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and each other. Opportunities for teaching abound and participation is encouraged and valued.

Function/Duties of Position

This position will include continuity ambulatory practice and potentially interim care for the practice. Clinical care duties will be the equivalent of 7 half days per week. Clinical work will include precepting residents approximately one-half day a week. Evening clinic hours will be expected at 1-day per week. Communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other clinicians in our practice is essential.

Duties of this position include:

• Serve as a primary care clinician in the Faculty Practice with OHSU at Hillsboro Internal Medicine Primary Care Clinic (to include continuity care, as well as interim or same day care)
• Participate in clinical based teaching of OHSU students and in the future Hillsboro Medical Center based Internal Medicine residents, such as resident continuity clinic precepting
• Potential for inpatient general medicine clinical work

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO
• Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence
