Job Summary

Cuready Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Surgical First Assist to support patient care and clinical operations within healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, high-quality care while collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and maintaining compliance with facility policies and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide first assist support during surgical procedures including bariatric, orthopedic, and thoracic surgeries.
• Handle surgical instruments and materials under the direction of the surgeon.
• Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Participate in patient care planning and post-operative evaluations.
• Assist in the application, manipulation, and monitoring of equipment such as robotic surgical systems.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical records and comply with facility protocols.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification and DC State License required.
• A minimum of 2 years of acute inpatient and outpatient OR experience.
• Proven experience with robotic surgery systems and orthopedic procedures.
• Prior travel assignment experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
